Pastor Karson Spooneybarger

Pastor Karson came to New Washington Christian Church after five years of ministry in a variety of settings. His preaching ministry began in rehab centers and drug recovery programs, where he saw firsthand the power of the gospel to transform broken lives. From there he went on to serve in youth ministry, and most recently in college and career ministry.

Karson is currently a student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he married his wife Taylor in May of 2026.

His ministry is marked by a commitment to expositional preaching and a love of theology, but at the center of it all is Jesus Christ and His gospel. When he's not studying or preaching, you'll find him outdoors hiking, hunting, or fishing.

We're a church that keeps things simple and centered on God's Word. Our services include singing hymns, a special time of prayer, and communion every week. The message is typically 30 to 40 minutes of expositional preaching as we work through the Gospel of John. All told, plan for about an hour.

As for dress, come as you are. Pastor Karson usually wears a suit, but there's no dress code here. You'll see everything from suits to jeans.

Children are always welcome in our services, and depending on the morning we sometimes offer a children's class during the message.

When you arrive, you can park out front or in the back parking lot, and come in through either the front entryway or the back door. We'd love to meet you!
